Oscar winners, artists and an awesome party.
Last night I was so excited to attend the opening night of the San Francisco International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgenger Film Festival. It’s the biggest LGBT film festival in the world and the 2nd largest film fest of any kind in California with over 80,000 attendees and screening over 300 films from all over the world. So needless to say when they kick it off - they do it in style.

The opening night film was a Sherlock Holmes style lesbian bodice ripper called Affinity. Just enough sex and just enough tension - the crowd LOVED it. I have no doubt this one will be making it to theaters for your enjoyment.
The other big treat of the night though is the opening night party. This year held at 1015 Folsom, a San Francisco location famous for the clubs Das Club and Product, the event was packed with hundred of folks dressed in all of their finery enjoying as much music, dancing and socializing as possible.
I got to talk to Festival Directors Michael Lumpkin and Jennifer Morris, as well as the founder of the Portland Queer Documentary Festival David Weissman. Films were in the air! Also milling about were Oscar winning documentary filmmaker Rob Epstein, Grammy winner Tracy Chapman, and renowned lesbian actress Guinivere Turner (who it’s rumored the Kevin Smith film Chasing Amy was based on).
Here I am with local filmmaker Charlotte Gutierrez, ready to get the party started.

Today I am likely to be in the Castro theater checking out short films, features and documentaries all day long! When I am done - I promise to tell you all about it.
