Screen Actors Guild Awards bring out Hollywood stars

The writer’s strike in Hollywood has left a grey cloud on actors and fans alike. The Golden Globes came and went and it’s still unclear if the Oscars will be broadcast. But last night , it was Hollywood in full effect at the SAG awards.
Here’s the scoop
Daniel Day Lewis (one of my absolute favorite actors) walked away with the best actor award for “There Will be Blood”
And he did so with a powerful and graceful tribute to Heath Ledger, dedicating his award to the late young actor.
Javier Bardem won the first movie award of the night for his supporting role in “No Country for Old Men”
Hollywood veteran, Julie Christie won best actress for “Away from Her” and Ruby Dee won for supporting actress in “American Gangster”

Visibly missing from the award list was Cate Blanchett for her supporting role in “I’m Not There” and lead in “Elizabeth: The Golden age”
The Screen Actors Guild received a waiver from the Writers Guild with a promise that the writers wouldn’t picket the show, hence the show could go on.
Any thoughts about what might happen at the fast approaching, globally watched Oscars? Will the world get to se the glamor and glitz that makes the movie business so….Hollywood?
