Cannes done

The Cannes Film Festival wrapped up Sunday, and the award winners are an intriguing slate. That The Tree of Life took the Palme d'Or isn't terribly surprising, though we've read some weirdly scathing responses to its win.

And yet we're more pleased to see Nicolas Winding Refn taking the Best Director prize for his Los Angeles crime drama Drive, 'cause if there's something we love more than an arthouse-appropriate genre film, it's a film by Nicolas Winding Refn.



Hell, yeah.

Though the festival is over and done with, quite a few previous Cannes selections can be found here on Jaman, from the sleep-deprived coming of age story No Rest for the Brave to the full-tilt classic The Third Man.
