The staff at Jaman follow American football (hereafter referred to as simply "Football") to varying degrees, but more than one of us were taken by surprise by the stellar performance of the Philadelphia Eagles last week against the Washington Redskins last week. Quarterback Michael Vick made some unsavory headlines a couple of years back and served time for his involvement in a dogfighting ring, but many are crediting his new drive to a genuine desire for redemption. The jury remains out on that (though naturally, one is inclined to hope for the best), but one can't deny that he's executed some beautiful, record-breaking work on the gridiron in recent weeks.
E-A-G-L-E-S! The Movie is a documentary (shot during the team's Donovan McNabb era) that captures an abundance of off-field action during a busy year in Eagles history, with special emphasis on the passion of many of the team's most fervid fans. It's an intriguing, even infectious, look at American fandom, and the athletes who inspire it.
