And we're back!

Doing a little tidying up around the Jaman Lounge, so we've been offline for a bit.

...okay, so we haven't exactly been hard at work...

...we were just celebrating, honest.

Actually, a seriously celebration-worthy event was the history-making Oscar win by Kathryn Bigelow, the first female filmmaker to take home the Best Director Oscar (among a slew of other awards). We're hoping that this accomplishment opens the door for other female filmmakers to get their work before larger audiences, and to leave their mark on the cinematic firmament. Meanwhile, a slew of works by some of the world's most notable female filmmakers can be found right here on Jaman.

For example, available to US and Canadian viewers is Towards Mathilde, a fascinating (and eventually transcendent) documentary on choreographer Mathilde Monnier, by acclaimed filmmaker Claire Denis.

Towards Mathilde

Meanwhile, the single most popular film on Jaman is Migration, by Mira Nair, which can be viewed for free by our viewers around the world.
